Half vegetable, fruit quantity sold in hypermarkets is Romanian

Half the quantity of vegetables and fruit traded in the Romanian-based hypermarkets comes from the local producers and the share of the Romanian produce could get up to 90 percent, a similar level to the one in Poland's market, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Daniel Constantin said on opening the Romanian Produce Stand at Real AFI Cotroceni hypermarket on November 10.

«50 percent of the vegetables and fruit sold in the Romanian hypermarkets is Romanian. I hope that by the stimulus measures taken, including a measure regarding a producer's certificate, the share of the Romanian produce would rise. We can look at countries such as Poland, where such share stands at 90 percent. There is potential in Romania, we can do this too», Constantin stressed.
