Hunting tourism in the Crimea is popular among foreigners – expert

The Crimean peninsular is attractive for foreigners as the hunting tourism center. Hunters from Italy, France, Spain, and other European countries, as well as from the USA, are coming to this territory for 15 years already.

According to Rustam Shafiyev, senior specialist of the hunting division at the Crimean Republican Forestry Committee, woodcock – a small bird of the snipe family – is the main game-bird, attracting foreign hunters to the Crimea. The hunting season for this representative of feathered family was opened on October 21, when the first hunters from Italy came to the peninsula.

Rustam Shafiyev says that, in connection with this fact, the Crimea may be considered as one of the hunting tourism centers and this sector is quite promising for the peninsula during the low season period.

As it has been earlier informed by the Resort and Information Center, approximately 1.5 thousand foreign hunters arrive to the Crimea every year, and more than 250 of them come from Italy and France.
