Ceyhan port shipped the 2-thousandth tanker with oil delivered by BTC pipeline

The Turkish Ceyhan port has shipped the 2-thousandth tanker with oil, supplied along the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline – such information has been communicated by «Trend», quoting the information of BIL (Botas International Limited), operating the oil pipeline at the Turkish territory from 2001.

According to the data on October 22, starting from June 2, 2006, BIL has shipped 1.54 billions barrels of oil, delivered by BTC pipeline, from the Ceyhan oil terminal.

The total length of BTC oil pipeline is 1768 km, and 443 of them run along the territory of Azerbaijan, 249 km – in Georgia, and 1076 km – in Turkey. Pipeline construction was launched in April 2003, and its fill-up with oil was commenced on May 18, 2005.

The list of BTC Co shareholders, founded on August 1, 2002 for implementation of this project, includes the following: BP (30.1 %), AzBTC (25 %), Chevron (8.9 %), Statoil (8.71 %), ТРАО (6.53 %), Eni (5 %), Total (5 %), Itochu (3.4 %), Inpex (2.5 %), ConocoPhillips (2.5 %), and Hess (2.36 %), (selling its share to Indian ONGC and the deal will be completed in the first quarter of 2013).
