Ukraine offered China to finance construction of the channel to the future LNG-terminal

The State Investment and National Project Management Agency invited large Chinese banks to take part in the financing of construction of the approach channel to the future sea terminal of liquefied natural gas.

The possibility of financing of these operations was discussed with the State Export-Import Bank of China and China Development Bank on October 19, 2012 during the road-show in Beijing. The cost of this part of the project is 120 million EURO.

The first large Ukrainian LNG-terminal will be constructed in the Yuzhny Port area (Odessa oblast). Project’s total value is 846 million EURO. Commencement of the terminal construction is scheduled for November 15, 2012.

The project is divided into two stages. The first one (launch – 2016) includes the operation of the terminal ship with the capacity of 5 billion cubic meters of gas a year. The second stage (launch – 2018) will include the construction of the surface terminal with the capacity of 10 billion cubic meters of gas a year.
