Georgia to reconsider deal of Inter RAO UES on Inguri Dam

Georgian candidate for Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze said today that the deal of Inter RAO UES (Russia) and the Georgian Energy Minister will be reconsidered, Trend reports.

The sides signed a memorandum of understanding, a classified document. According to latest information, the memorandum is a full-fledged deal that has not been signed. Opposition accused the government of “selling” Georgian interests to Russia.

RAO UES has several facilities in Georgia, including the distribution network of Tbilisi and the Telasi Company.

Billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili’s Georgian Dream got 85 seats of parliament, President Mikheil Saakashvili’s United National Movement got 65.
