Suspected members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) have kidnapped a temporary instructor and village guard after stopping their vehicles in the southeastern province of Şırnak's Beytüşşebap district late on October 12, daily Milliyet has reported.

PKK militants stopped cars along the way to perform identity checks and make propaganda on behalf of the organization. Afterward, the militants kidnapped a female instructor identified as Filiz Sümer, as well as a village guard identified as Nesim Timur, before disappearing into the mountains.
