A magnitude 4,5 earthquake struck Azerbaijan on October 7, 2012

According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the earthquake was registered at 16:42 local time (at 11:42 UTC).

According to the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the intensity of the earthquake was 4 - 4.5 points.

The epicenter was located 6 km from the village Basgal (Basqal) and 18 km north-west of Şamaxı (Shemakha). Hypocenter - at a depth of 40.9 km.
