Currency reserve of National Bank of Moldova up by $4 million

The currency reserve of the National Bank of Moldova reached a new record-breaking figure on September 21 - US$2.329 billion, increasing US$4 million in a week. The previous records were hit on September 14 - US$2.325 billion and on September 7 - US$2.27 billion.

According to the National Bank of Moldova, the assets placed in governmental securities increased from US$1.346 billion to US$1.354 billion, whereas the assets placed in deposits decreased from US$973.6 million to US$969.1 million.

In the nearest future, Moldova will record a new increase in currency reserve, due to the International Monetary Fund’s decision to allot a new tranche of US$77 million within the three-year financing program.
