Michel Platini: holding Olympics and Euro-2020 in Turkey unreasonable

The president of UEFA Michel Platini noted that he doesn’t pose an ultimatum to Istanbul – the Olympics or Euro 2020, but he emphasized that holding these two events in one city in one year is unreasonable, Championat.com reports.

Istanbul will compete with Madrid and Tokyo to hold the Olympics in 2020, while Turkey is a candidate for welcoming Euro-2020.

«The idea of holding matches of Euro in various countries is considered as a variant for 2020 exclusively, when the 60th anniversary of the tournament will be marked. We are expecting the reactions of the European countries.»
