China to back video monitoring system of Moldovan road traffic implementation

China will earmark Moldova 4,5 million dollars to implement a video monitoring system to secure traffic both in Chisinau and on the national roads.

A contract was signed in this respect by Interior Minister Dorin Recean and the director of the international affairs department of the company «Hebei Jianshe Construction Group Co., Ltd», Liu Haibo on September 27.

Minister Dorin Recean thanked the Chinese delegation for the successful cooperation within the launched reform. He said the implementation of this project will increase the security level on national roads and will greatly optimize the work of the traffic police.

Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Moldova Tong Mingtao stressed the importance of the signed contract. He also said it is important to consolidate bilateral ties based on reciprocity and experience exchange.

The system will monitor 47 crossroads in Chisinau and all the national roads that are used. It will constantly and automatically trace the violations of the traffic regulations. The project is going to implement the first stage of the National Automated System for Road Traffic Surveillance (SNASCR) approved by the National Council for Road Traffic Security on 7 June 2012. The project is implemented within the assistance project of the Chinese government using Huawei technologies.
