Bulgaria will open two new checkpoints at the border with Romania

The government has endorsed the opening of two new border checkpoints between Bulgaria and Romania.

They will be set between Krushari (Bulgaria) and Dobromir (Romania) and between Kainardja (Bulgaria) and Lipnta (Romania). The suggestion was coordinated between the two countries during the visit of Romania’s Minister of Foiregn Affairs to Sofia in July.

The agreement of opening border checkpoints is a compulsory element of the project under the Programme for trans-border cooperation between Bulgaria and Romania. The Programme envisages the modernization and rehabilitation of portions of the trans-border routes.
