Turkish & Japanese rubber companies sign protocol

Turkey's Abdulkadir Ozcan Automotive Tires Company (AKO) and Japan's Sumitomo Rubber Industries Corporation on September 21signed a protocol whereby the two companies would jointly erect a new facility in the northern province of Cankiri, one that will be worth around 500 million USD.

The protocol ceremony was held in an Ankara hotel and attended by Turkish Minister of Economy Zafer Caglayan, Chairman of the Turkish Prime Ministry Investment Support and Promotion Agency Ilker Ayci, Sumitomo Rubber's CEO Ikuji Ikeda and CEO of AKO Mustafa Ozcan.

Speaking at the ceremony, Zafer Caglayan stressed that Turkey was the world's 13th country in which investors had most confidence in.
