Light earthquake registered in sothwestern Bulgaria

An earthquake with a magnitude of 2 points on the Richter scale has been registered in southwestern Bulgaria on September 10 evening.

According to the Seismology Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, BAS, the quake's is located 4 km west of the town of Simitli, 94 km southwest from the capital Sofia, and 17 km south of the city of Blagoevgrad.

There are no reports of casualties or damage and the shock, which occured at 10:50 pm, has not been felt by local residents.
