Moldovan cabinet approves draft law on visa free regime with Turkey

The Moldovans will travel without visas to Turkey. The Turks, willing to travel to Moldova, will have the same privileges. An agreement in this respect, signed by the two states last year, was approved by the government on January 23.

The draft law was presented to the cabinet by Foreign and European Integration Minister Iurie Leanca. He said that the agreement is likely to enter into force in May at latest.

According to the agreement, the visa free regime will not provide the citizens of the two states with the right to employ.

The data published by the Moldovan Tourism Agency show that over 50,000 Moldovans visited Turkey in 2011, via the travel agencies.

The intergovernmental agreement on mutual visa abolishment was signed in Ankara, Turkey, on 1 November 2012. The document is going to be ratified by the parliament.
