Romania has authorized the British to develop oil and gas fields on of the restriction in Ukraine Black Sea

Romanian Agency for Natural Resources issued the British Melrose Resources jointly with the Romanian Petromar Resources permission for the research and commercial development of oil and gas fields in the area of the Black Sea, which was previously disputed territory of Ukraine and Romania.

It is about the development of the blocks EX-27 and EX-Muridava 28 Est Cobalcescu, says UNN.

"The unit is located in the shallow waters of the Black Sea and a preliminary analysis shows that they promise, as for oil and gas. Specifically, on the block EX-27 Muridava oil reserves were discovered in drilling wells Olympic Ukrainian company in 2001 (the well is located about 40 km south of Snake Island, drilled Chernomorneftegaz) ", - reported at Melrose.

The concession agreement between the Agency of Mineral Resources of Romania, Melrose Resources and Petromar Resources signed on 8 March 2011, the share of Melrose in the concession is 80%. Term of agreement - three years, with the possibility of extension for a similar period. During 2012, scheduled for 2D and 3D seismic surveys in 2013 to drill one well in 2014 - two more.

"The company plans to spend at least $ 60 million. Exploration during the initial term of the concession," - said Melrose website.

The company made it clear that in the 2011 budget for this purpose was included $ 17.8 million, which will be used in subsequent periods.
