Gambling licenses’ issuance in Georgia may be suspended for 5 years

A five-year moratorium may be introduced for gambling licenses’ issuance in Georgia. Such proposal has been sent by the Gambling Business Association to the commission, considering this matter.

According to the Association’s Head, this is the maximum possible concession the gambling business is ready to make.

It is proposed to introduce the moratorium for issuance of licenses from January 1, 2014, and to use this period for consideration of the gambling business transfer to a separate zone. In case of a position decision creation of the infrastructure will be commenced, and starting from 2019 the gambling business will work in a separate zone.

Some time ago the initiative to ban the gambling business was announced by the member of the parliamentary majority Koba Davitashvili, Business Georgia informs.
