Bulgarian absorption of EU funds is unsatisfactory

In an interview for the BNR Vice-Premier and Minister of Justice Zinaida Zlatanova said that Bulgaria is threatened to find itself among the least successful countries in the Union in view of EU funds absorption under the current budget frame.

Meanwhile, due to accumulated problems with the planning of future expenses, this country should urgently defend the means it expects for the next programme period. Unfortunately in the past couple of years no priorities have been mapped out for the new administration to lean upon in order to convince Brussels that EU funds will be invested in the right way. For the period 2014-2020 Bulgaria has been allotted an approximate sum, which should now be defended urgently, the Vice-Premier pointed out.
