Azerbaijan to mark 90th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev

The 90th birthday of Heydar Aliyev will be marked on May 10th. The anniversary is celebrated not only in Azerbaijan, but in other countries as well.

Mehriban Aliyeva, first lady of Azerbaijan and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, said on May 7 that Azerbaijan will mark the 90th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in a few days, Trend reports.

She praised Heydar Aliyev as a wise and kind politician. He often faced injustice, treacheries and treason in his life, was had the strength to forgive. He pardoned many people since becoming president in 1993.

The Azerbaijani parliament has announced amnesty for convicts on May 7.
