Nuclear safety mission in Bulgaria comes to close

Bulgaria has a clear national policy in view of nuclear safety, said Martha Zhekova, head of the joint two-week mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Bulgarian Agency for Atomic Regulation.

The mission consisted of 16 experts from different countries, members of the IAEA as well as observers from France and Holland. Recommendations were made for the legal framework to clearly discern between the roles of national bodies in view of nuclear safety, as well as improve the resources and expert capacity of the Agency for Atomic Regulation.
