ANRE says fuel prices may go down

The National Energy Regulatory Agency thinks that the prices on fuels should decrease in Moldova. The ANRE has reasoned its position by the fact that over the past two months, the import prices of fuels have also dropped.

Thus, according to ANRE calculations, the average import prices on gasoline dropped from US$1,120 per ton in February to US$1,054 in mid-April, which makes a price tumble of 5.9%.

At the same time, the PLATTS gasoline rates for this period also dropped by US$113 per ton, from US$1,099 to US$986.

A similar situation is recorded in terms of diesel oil. The import prices of this fuel shrunk by US$58 (5.6%).  A more significant price reduction was registered on import of liquefied gas: from US$872 to US$654 per ton.

According to the National Energy Regulatory Agency, these facts create favorable pre-requisites for cutting the prices on the internal market, by at least 3% on gasoline and diesel oil, and by 13% - on gas.
