Moldova to open five observation posts on Prut, Dniester rivers to monitor water level

Five observation posts of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service (SPCSE) will start working on the Prut and Dniester rivers on April 11.

These posts will be meant to monitor the water level in both rivers. They will be located in such areas as: Vadul lui Vodă - Anenii Noi – Bender, Căuşeni - Ştefan-Vodă, Cahul - Cantemir, Ungheni - Nisporeni and Costeşti.

The decision to set up the posts was taken by the SPCSE leadership, after being on the spot, in order to efficiently monitor and coordinate the situation related to water level in both rivers.

SPCSE press officer Diana Turcan said that the posts´ employees would inform about the situation on the water level in the Dniester and Prut rivers at each six hours.

By late last week, the SPCSE decided to install other three observation posts on the two rivers, which were to monitor the water level during three days.
