EC sends experts for analyzing Bulgaria’s energy sector

Vice-premier Ekaterina Zaharieva and Minister of Energy Assen Vassilev met in Brussels with EU Commissioner for Energy Günter Oettinger.

They discussed the problems of the energy sector in Bulgaria. It was agreed upon for the European Commission to send next week to Sofia experts who would help for the working out of an analysis that would serve the faster introduction of European legislature for the liberalization of the energy market. These issues will be discussed again in April. Minister Zaharieva voiced her expectations that until then the EC would not be opening court procedures against Bulgaria for the belated energy liberalization.
