Chisinau hosts Moldagroteh international exhibition

Over 110 companies from Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Moldova, Romania, the USA and Ukraine participate in the 14th issue of the MOLDAGROTECH spring international specialized exhibition of agricultural and industrial machines, equipment and technologies, staged at the Chisinau-based Moldexpo international exhibition centre on 13 - 16 March.

The event is organized by the Moldexpo centre in cooperation with the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry.

Attending the exhibition’s inauguration, acting Prime Minister Vlad Filat appreciated the twice per year organization of this important and prestigious event, which offers advanced technologies, innovations, performing equipment and machines for the development of Moldova’s agro-industrial complex. "I am confident about the development of Moldova’s agro-industrial sector. The 2013 seems to be a good year for farmers, who need modern equipment and machines and I hope that we will have a good harvest this year," Filat said.

The participants in the exhibition offer well-known local and international brands related to all areas of the agro-industrial sector – agricultural machinery, irrigation and water supply systems, improvement works equipment, hydro installations, food and processing industry equipment, fertilizers and means of plant protection, intensive agriculture technologies, etc.

The exhibition also presents a large variety of seeds and plants, vegetable seedling, fruit tree saplings, medicinal and decorative plants, gardening tools, etc.

In the context of an already existing tradition, the exhibition will also host the organisation of the "Util pentru Moldova" (Useful for Moldova) international contest, which is meant to contribute to the technical endowment of the Moldovan agro-industrial sector. At the event, the producers and suppliers of best examples of agricultural machines, phyto-sanitary products and fertilizers will be awarded the Grand Prize, golden, silver and bronze medals, as well as diplomas of the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry.

At the same time, the event will also include a range of seminars and round tables meant to approach the agro-industrial sector’s issues.
