Romania may become regional leader in selling food additives

In the next few years Romania may become a regional leader in production and sales of food additives and may outrun the Czech Republic which is in the lead currently. These are the findings of a research, conducted by a consulting company “PMR”.

According to statistics, every Romanian annually consumes two packages of food additives in the form of vitamins, and over 50 major companies operate in this segment of the Romanian pharmaceutical market.

Annual sales of food additives in the country amount to about EUR 200 million, and according to forecasts, this figure is going to double in 5 years.
