International music festival takes place in Moldova

The 47-th issue of the Martisor International Music Festival was inaugurated on March 1, 2013 in Chisinau at the Nicolae Sulac National Palace.

Attending the event were President Nicolae Timofti, Parliament Speaker Marian Lupu, Prime Minister Vlad Filat, MPs, cabinet members, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to Moldova, other officials.

Timofti said that the festival was held in Chisinau on 1-10 March. At the same time, concerts would be performed in the districts as well.

The chairman of the CIS interstate fund for Humanitarian Cooperation, Armen Simbatan, said: "you are a nation who has a glorious past and will have a great future ".

The National Chamber Chorus, the Adavahov’s brothers orchestra, the orchestra of the Teleradio-Moldova state-run company, as well as singers from Russia, Ukraine and Moldova delivered performances at the festival’s inauguration.
