Honorary Consulate of Lithuania introduced in Odessa

Odessa City Mayor Aleksey Kostusyev held an official meeting with the Ambassador-at-large of the Lithuanian Republic’s MIA Evaldas Ignatavičius.

Yesterday, on February 18, 2013, Odessa City Mayor Aleksey Kostusyev held an official meeting with the Ambassador-at-large of the Lithuanian Republic’s MIA Evaldas Ignatavičius and took part in the official opening ceremony of the Honorary Consulate of the Lithuanian Republic in Odessa.

During the ceremony, Aleksey Kostusyev emphasized that he is glad that our city is a part of the great state task of developing the relationships between Ukraine and Lithuania, and marked off the crucial importance of establishing the Lithuanian Consulate in Odessa.

At the time being, the number of the foreign states’ diplomatic missions Odessa hosts is second only to the capital of Ukraine. In particular, there are 9 General and 7 Honorary Consulates, as well as the Representative Office of Ukraine’s Internal Affairs Ministry and the Office of European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM) in Odessa.
