Emergency management centre to be built in Moldova

An emergency management centre will be opened in Moldova by early 2014. Interior Minister Dorin Recean and World Bank’s representative Anatol Gobjila discussed the subject at a meeting on February 7.

Gobjila informed Recean that the construction works of the centre had already been launched in January.

The inauguration of the centre is scheduled for early 2014 and the project is to be completed within 18 months.

Recean reiterated the importance of creating such a centre and expressed confidence about its effectiveness.

The Disaster and Climate Risk Management Project in Moldova is implemented on the basis of a financing agreement between Moldova and the International Development Association (IDA), signed in August 2010.
