Olympic flame arrived in Bucharest

The Olympic flame that will burn during 2013 European Youth Winter Olympic Festival in Brasov ( February 17-22), arrived february 4 at Otopeni Airport in Bucharest, brought by a delegation that included Octavian Morariu , President COSR, Nicolae Banicioiu, Minister of Youth and Sports, George Scripcaru, Mayor of Brasov.

The Olympic flame, a symbol of the modern Olympics, was lit on Saturday by the sun's rays at the Panathenaic marble stadium in Athens, in the presence of Greek and Romanian officials, and was subsequently flown by plane, using a special lamp, to Bucharest.

The Olympic Flame will be displayed in a special place on the esplanade in front of the COSR headquarters, from Sunday through February 9, after which it will be relayed to Brasov. The Olympic torch will reach Brasov on February 17, when the opening festivity of the European Youth Winter Olympic Festival will be held.

The Olympic Flame will burn for the first time in a competition in Romania, on the occasion of 2013 EYOF conducted under the auspices of the IOC.
