Moldova to join CIS interstate fund for humanitarian aid

Moldova has prepared a draft document on its accession to the Agreement on Humanitarian Cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States, said Parliament Speaker Marian Lupu at a meeting with the Russian Ambassador to Moldova, Farit Muhametshin.

According to the Parliament’s press service, Marian Lupu highlighted the important role played by the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation (IFHC), which contributed in 2009 to the organization in Chisinau of the 4th Forum of Creative and Scientific Intellectuals from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and provided significant financial assistance to the organization of the International Music Festival Martisor in 2011 and 2012, to the Delphic Games for the Youth, as well as to a string of seminars for museographers, archaeologists and restaurateurs.

The Moldovan Government has recently made an important step towards joining the Interstate Fund, as it adopted a draft law on the partial cancellation of reservation clauses, introduced by the former Moldovan authorities in the Agreement on Humanitarian Cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Lupu and Muhametshin also discussed the bilateral cooperation prospects, as well as the agenda of the meeting of Moldo-Russian Inter-Parliamentary Committee, due in 1H2013.
