EC does not envisage legislative changes to the detriment of Bulgarian rose oil producers

At a meeting in Brussels with the EU Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy Tonio Borg, the Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture and Food Miroslav Naydenov was assured that the European Commission does not envisage any legislative changes to the detriment of Bulgarian manufacturers of rose oil.

A report made by the European Health and Consumer Protection Scientific Committee recently provoked rumors of forthcoming legislative amendments which will affect negatively all rose oil producers, because of certain allergens in the rose oil. The EC is positive that it will not make such changes, said Miroslav Naydenov. He also pointed out that EU Commissioner Borg assured him that the EC will grant 75% of the funds needed to fight foot-and-mouth-disease.
