Cossacks and foresters in Gelendzhik will protect fir trees from felling

The local Cossack squad will stand up staunchly to protect the main symbol of the New Year.

30 Cossacks and foresters will patrol coniferous forests twenty four hours a day. They will set up a specific supervision over the areas, where cases of felling have already occurred.

Planting experts have already planted approximately 400 coniferous trees this year in Gelendzhik. Policemen will keep an eye on them to ensure their safety before the holidays. Law enforcement officers have reminded that any illegal felling of firs is punished with a fine up to 50 thousand rubles, while in some cases – up to deprivation of liberty.
