Odessa’s streets to be decorated with festive illumination for the New Year

Central streets of the city and Odessa’s Main New Year Tree will be decorated by St. Nicholas’ Day.

“Odessa Municipal Lighting” Communal Establishment started the preparations for the New Year celebration. At the time being, the CE’s specialists are revising, sorting and repairing the festive lights and decorations the city would be adorned with, when the New Year approaches.

“All the preparations are scheduled to be finished in three weeks, and after this, “Odessa Municipal Lighting” CE will immediately start decorating the streets. According to the plan, the festive illumination will be hung out above the pedestrian zones of Deribasovskaya and Pushkinskaya Streets, and Primorskiy Boulevard, too. Luminescent banners with fir branches and snow flakes will be used to decorate the streets. The building of Odessa City Council will be adorned with festive illumination, too”, said Odessa City Deputy Mayor Anatoly Orlovskiy.

“Decorating the city’s Main New Year Tree at Odessa’s Dumskaya Square is an important task for “Odessa Municipal Lighting” CE to handle. Here, a festive little town with fairytale animals will be constructed for the kids: 31 luminescent animals, birds and even an angel with a trumpet”, announced “Odessa Municipal Lighting” CE’s Director Alexander Prokopets.

The employees of “Odessa Municipal Lighting” CE are planning to finish all the decoration works by December, 19, when St. Nicholas’ Day will be celebrated.
