Moldova, Romania sign agreement on food testing

Agriculture and Food Minister Vasile Bumacov and Romanian Ambassador to Chisinau Marius Lazurca on November 28 signed an agreement on donation of equipment for testing food products.

Vasile Bumacov said that the equipment worth 300,000 euros is to be set up within a laboratory for checking up the food products. He noted that partners in this project are also entities from Israel and Germany. Romania is responsible for providing training to the Moldovan staff.

Marius Lazurca said the donation is fitted into the context of boosting the trade relations between Moldova and the European Union. He voiced conviction that the free trade agreement with the EU will be signed in 2013.

MOLDPRES noted that both agreements on free trade agreement and visa free regime with the EU are to be signed as sides of an eventual association agreement of Moldova to the EU.
