New gas pit to be exploited in Bulgaria the coming year

Starting the second half of 2013 a new natural gas deposit pit will be exploited in Deventsi, Northern Bulgaria.

The gas obtained there would be bought off by Bulgargaz at a price 35 percent lower than imported gas, said Bulgarian Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Delian Dobrev. In the first few years after the start of the exploitation of the new deposit the utilization of natural gas from local sources will increase by at least 10 percent.

After 2020 local extraction will increase considerably and will cover the larger part of domestic use, Minister Dobrev prognosticates.
