Bulgaria to apply for EUR 2.4 billion for urban development

Bulgarian will negotiate with the European Commission to receive EUR 2.4 billion during the next programming period 2014-2020 for urban development, the Bulgarian Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Lilyana Pavlova informed.

The announcement was made at a seminar in Sofia about the urban dimension of the EU cohesion policy. The mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova said that Sofia managed to absorb over EUR 1 billion under the European programmes, which helped improve the quality of life of almost 2 million people.

«The biggest priority of the municipality of Sofia is to implement the environmental policies», – Yordanka Fandakova announced.
