Perhaps one of the oldest evidence of written language has been found in Romania

Romanian archaeologists have discovered near motorway Sibiu – Orăstie (central Romania), a piece of ceramics with unknown characters, which may indicate the existence of writing in the early Neolithic.

The find has been unearthed in a complex of buildings, which dates back to the age of 6000 BC.

«We are all in s state of shock. I have personally visited countless symposia, published numerous books about symbols and signs, in which I have argued that, in those days there were no writing systems that did not mean a lack of communication », - said director of the Sibiu Brukental museum Mr. Sabin Luca, adding that one could not rule the possibility that the characters were a common ornament.
