IMF to help Georgia cover bond debts

The IMF will finance coverage of debts from bonds issued by the Georgian government if Tbilisi requests monetary assistance, Georgian Deputy Minister for Finances David Lejava said.

The deputy minister expressed confidence that the country will need no financial support from abroad and that it needed non-fiscal sources of budget income.

Lejava added that the country needed to cover bonds worth $500 billion before 2017.
