Bulgarians 4th in Europe for spending on trips

A Eurostat analysis shows that Bulgarians stand forth in Europe in view of the money they spend for vacation trips and tourism.

The average per capita sum for 2011 is EUR 2 100. According to data from the National Statistical institute for the second trimester of 2012 traveling Bulgarians have spent over EUR 110 million. Some 3.8 million Bulgarians have made trips abroad. Half of the destinations have been within the EU and the greater part – to neighboring countries.

Some 1.1 million have traveled to Turkey; over 1 million – to Greece; over 300 – to Macedonia and as many to Romania. The citizens of Luxembourg spend most on trips – EUR 6 500 per capita, followed by the Danes – EUR 4 400 and the Norwegians – EUR 2 400.
