Projects implemented in central town Ungheni amount to 40 million euros

Over 30 projects funded by the EU, amounting to 40 million euros, have been implemented in Ungheni, over the last ten years.

Ungheni Mayor Alexandru Ambros said most of the projects were obtained and implemented by the town's local administration and NGOs. «The business incubator was one of the first projects implemented in town. Businessmen may register their business here without a legal address. Also they benefit from a series of facilities and counseling within the project,» Ambros said.

According to the source, several youth centres and an inclusive kindergarten, training over 40 disabled children, have been opened in Ungheni, with the help of the European funds. «Also a series of transboundary projects were implemented in Ungheni, including the cooperation project between Moldova and Romania, meant to back the private sector and tourism's development,» Ambros said.

The Ungheni mayor said the town's authorities used European money to publish a brochure illustrating the most beautiful places of Ungheni, as well as a touristic map and a DVD.
