Second large ferry line opens in Istanbul

Istanbul ferry line (İDO), which has long held a monopoly in passenger transportation through Istanbul’s waterways, is going to lose that status.

Negmar, subsidiary of Gübretaş, which transports trucks around the Sea of Marmara, has recently acquired three vessels and will begin to transport cars from topçular to Eskihisar in areas of Istanbul and Yalova Province.

Passenger ferries have started their operation on October 25, according to the company’s written statement. Vessels will operate 24 hrs a day.
