Bucharest hosts Railway Summit for Investments in Wider Black Sea Region

The 8th Railway Summit for Investments in the Wider Black Sea Region will be organized in Bucharest, on October 9 and 10, by the Railway Club and the Association of the Railway Industry in Romania under the aegis of the Community of European Railways and the Association of the European Rail Industry, reads a release sent to Agerpres.

«During the meeting they will also start talks on signing a memorandum of understanding with a view to beginning a strategy for the wider Black Sea region. More than 300 important representatives of the railway field and not only of that field are expected to attend the event,» reads the release mentioned before.

The initiative to organize the summit wan taken by the 28 states belonging to the wider Black Sea region, namely Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Georgia, Greece, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kosovo (UNSCR 1244/99), the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, the Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Hungary and Uzbekistan. 

According to the concept promoted by the Railway Club, the main field of cooperation would be the development of the railway transport system, making trade between Europe and Asia easier and opening new vast markets.
