Moldovan citizens can work legally in Israel

Citizens of Moldova will be able to work legally in Israel. On September 11, 2012 the government of the country approved the decision to initiate negotiations to sign the Agreement on the temporary employment of citizens of the Republic of Moldova in certain economic sectors of Israel.

Temporary employment of workers will be carried out only by authorized government agencies of Moldova and Israel.

This document provides basis for legal and equitable process of employment in order to avoid the migrant workers' accumulation of illegal taxes and to ensure protection of their social and employment rights, Minister of Labour, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga said at the meeting on September 11, 2012.

In early 2011,6400 Moldovan citizens either worked or were in pursuit of employment in Israel,
but only 316 of them had employment contracts, registered with the employment service of that country.
