The Monitoring Group of the Black Sea Institute of Strategic Studies and BlackSeaNews reports on the results of its own monitoring of violations of the embargo on seaborne imports of Russian crude oil into EU countries in December 2024 (see Table 1).

In December 2024, 5 violations of the EU embargo on seaborne imports of Russian crude oil from the Black Sea were recorded.

They involved the delivery of crude oil to the ports of the EU countries. 

Shipowners from Greece performed these voyages.

In December 2024, a total of 646.826 tons of Russian crude oil were delivered to the EU in violation of the embargo.
