Russian Crude Oil Imports to the EU Embargo: Database of October 2024 Violations

and the Black Sea Institute of Strategic Studies
The Monitoring Group of the Black Sea Institute of Strategic Studies and BlackSeaNews reports on the results of its own monitoring of violations of the embargo on seaborne imports of Russian crude oil into EU countries in October 2024 (see Table 1).

In October 2024, 6 violations of the EU embargo on seaborne imports of Russian crude oil from the Black Sea were recorded.
One was involved the delivery of crude oil to a transshipment point in the Laconian Gulf off the coast of Greece. Five direct voyages were made to the ports of the EU countries.
Shipowners from Greece (3), Germany (1) and Antigua and Barbuda (1) performed these voyages.
In October 2024, a total of 797.113 tons of Russian crude oil were delivered to the EU in violation of the embargo.
