Crimean higher education institutions are allowed to start the academic year in October

Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science has supported the initiative of the Crimean Prime-Minister Anatolii Mohyliov to transfer the start of the academic year for students of higher education institutions to October 1.

The Ministry has informed that a higher education institution may independently set the time for the academic year start (except for the first year students), subject to mandatory compliance with standard schooling time.

According to the Crimean PM, the transfer of the academic year start will allow students’ recreation in September at more affordable prices than in summer. Also this will provide a possibility for expansion of the resort season and to attract additional vacationers to the Crimea.
