Romania approved the Shale Gas Production Strategy

Romanian Parliament members have approved the governmental the Strategy for shale gas exploration and production at the territory of Romania.

According to the Romanian Environmental Minister Rovana Plumb, in case of successful implementation of the Strategy, its major economic advantages will include the reduction of prices for energy resources, arrangement of new jobs, increase in the budgetary income, and, accordingly, the growth of the country’s investment indices.

The Minister has underlined that geological exploration and production of the shale gas will not be carried out with the help of the hydraulic fracturing, will not hit the Romanian environment, and also will not have any negative impact on the Romanian coast of the Black Sea, Ukrinform reports.
