Moldovan government approves road fund's budget distribution

On January 23 the Moldovan government approved the distribution of the road fund's budget. Therefore, an amount of 1.079 billion lei will be allocated for Moldova's road fund in 2013, which adds about 55 million lei against 2012.

Transport and Road Infrastructure Minister Anatol Salaru during the cabinet meeting, said 1 billion 59 million lei will be allocated for road rehabilitation and maintenance works. According to him, over 732 million lei and 327 million lei will be used to restore and maintain national and local roads respectively.

Over 906 million lei will be used to maintain roads. Other 100 million lei will be allocated for road rehabilitation works and engineering constructions. Also, officials will allocate 18 million lei for projecting and road evaluation works in 2013. An amount of 35 million lei will be used to purchase 50 vehicles for road maintenance crews, three asphalt in-built modern scales and five mills for snow-clearing works.

Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat required responsible authorities to guarantee the quality of road repairing and maintenance works.

The budget of the road fund amounted to 1.024 billion lei in 2012.
