Chisinau hosts festival of civil society projects

The East European Foundation, with the support of the Swedish and Danish governments and Austrian ERSTE Foundation, organises an international festival entitled: “Civic Fest 2013: Moldova for citizens” for the first time ever. The event takes place in Chisinau on 29-31 October.

The festival’s organisers said that the Civic Fest brought together the most successful projects of the civil society from the European Union and Moldova, which had been internationally recognised and could serve as models of good practices in different areas.

Among them, there are projects on entrepreneurship, social integration, community development and social inclusion, social and cultural transformations, as well as social responsibility.

The event focuses on three topics: „Culture and media in Moldova – a new approach”, „Justice and social transformations – how ONGs can support democratic and social changes in Moldova” and „Social entrepreneurship – social inclusion and communities’ development”.

Full-length and short documentaries will be screened, a concert with the participation of disabled children will be performed, workshops for young journalists and bloggers will be organised, modern art exhibition are also to be staged within the festival.
