Genesis Biopartner to open biogas co-generation plant in Prahova, main beneficiary meat and dairy producer CrisTim

Genesis Biopartner will inaugurate the first co-generation biogas -fueled power station next week in Prahova county, at Filipestii de Padure, which has been developed and fully financed by the company.

Romanian meat producer CrisTim will be the beneficiary of the electricity produced there, while in the future, Genesis Biopartner will manage the waste from the CrisTim factory and use them to produce energy, according to the company. The official opening of the plant is scheduled for July 9.

CrisTim will benefit from a drop in energy costs and in managing waste, but the co-generation project is a secondary one for the meat producer, according to a statement. CrisTim has a dairy factory at Boldesti Scaieni in Prahova, which is the company’s first project on the dairy market. Cris-Tim produces cold cuts under several brands, among which are Cris-Tim, Alpinia, Matache Macelaru, EcoFerm. The group of companies includes a factory in Prahova county, Cristim Prodcom, which runs logistic for Impex Cris-Tim, the retail chain that sells its products. The producer started business in 1991 with one shop and opened its first factory in 1994.
