Pushkin days to be held in Chisinau

The Russian Science and Culture Center (RSCC) will conduct a string of events dedicated to the 214th birthday anniversary of Alexander Pushkin, who is considered by many to be the greatest Russian poet and the founder of modern Russian literature. The events will be held in Chisinau on June 6-8.  

According to organizers, «Pushkin Days» will open on June 6, by laying flowers to the monument to Russian poet. Representatives of the Moldovan Government, foreign diplomats, public activists and artists are expected to take part in this festivity. A religious service in the memory of the Russian poetry genius will be held in the St. George's Church in Chisinau. On the same day, all those interested are invited to see a play at the Russian Drama Theater «A.P. Chekhov.» 

Also on June 6, an intellectual game «On the traces of Genius» will be organized together with the City Quest Project. 

The celebration of Pushkin Days will end up with the traditional trip to the Dolna village, on July 8. Those interested will have the opportunity to visit the Pushkin Museum and the church, and to attend a literature-musical performance with the participation of professional and amateur artists and artistic groups.
